Women Angered Over Drug Deal Ripoff Calls Cops
EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
It's another one of those 'only in Florida' stories, folks. A Ft. Myers woman reportedly called 911 to report to the police that her drug dealer hadn't doled out the right amount of drugs, and got arrested herself.
The Smoking Gun reports that 36-year-old Erin Klich rang the cops from right outside her drug dealer's home, after she felt she was shorted on the marijuana she paid for.
The police report reads that Kilch told a cop she "called the police because she was buying marijuana and was shorted by the people" inside the home. She said that she went over to buy a seven-gram bag of weed for $75, but was short-changed by a dealer who just didn't know how crazy she could be.
After a Fort Myers Police Department officer arrived at the scene, Klich again called a 911 operator, and engaged in a "loud and argumentative" exchange. She hung up the phone at the cop's direction, but subsequently dialed 911 again. When warned by an officer that she was misusing the emergency dispatch system, Klich refused to hang up the phone, prompting her arrest.
While cops waited for a female officer to arrive at the scene to search Klich, she was placed into the rear of a police cruiser. Upon Klich's exit from the car, officers found a "clear plastic baggy containing suspect marijuana, lodged between the seat where Klich was sitting."
The pot weighed 5.4 grams, police noted. So it seems despite her bad judgment on everything else, Klich was in fact a great judge of how much marijuana was in that baggy.
Klich was charged with the misdemeanor crimes of marijuana possession and misuse of the 911 system. She was released from jail Saturday after posting $2500 bond, and is scheduled for an October 13 court appearance.
