EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Global breakthrough star, Charli XCX, is delighted to announce details of her forthcoming single "Doing It," which will feature Rita Ora. The new single "Doing It," produced by Charli's long-time friend Ariel Rechtshaid (Beyonc, HAIM) and Mr. Rogers, is a Madonna-tinged, feel-good anthem and the Charli/Rita collaboration is set to firmly bring girl power into full force in 2015.
Charli's new album "SUCKER" received a wealth of critical acclaim upon its release in America, including nods in SPIN's & Rolling Stone's '50 Best Albums of 2014', with RS naming the 22-year-old "a badass songwriting savant who's the most fun girl in any room she steps into." The Hertfordshire-born starlet also landed every major TV appearance around the release including "Saturday Night Live," "Late Show with David Letterman," "The Today Show" and more. The 22-year-old has worked with Patrick Berger (Lana Del Rey, Robyn) on her rebellious pop record, along with an array of acclaimed associates: Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, Weezer's very own Rivers Cuomo, Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Vampire Weekend), StarGate (Beyonc, Rihanna), Benny Blanco (Katy Perry), Cashmere Cat, Greg Kurstin (Sia, Lykke Li), John Hill (Santigold, Empire of the Sun), Justin Raisen (Sky Ferreira) and the members of Miike Snow.
At just 22-years-old, the 'Sesac Writer of the Year 2014' and most recently-named 'Hitmaker of the Year' by Billboard, has continually proved why she's become one of the most sought-after pop writers and stars of our time. After writing/featuring on Icona Pop's global #1 and 9 million-selling 2013 single 'I Love It' and the five million-selling, Billboard 'Song of the Summer 2014' "Fancy" with Iggy Azalea (the track spent 7 weeks at #1 in the US, charted at #5 in the UK and has been nominated for two Grammys), Charli released her track 'Boom Clap' taken from "The Fault in Our Stars" movie in July last year. The track proved to be a huge international success after it hit the Top 10 in the UK and US, selling over three million copies worldwide to date and peaking at #1 on Top 40 Radio in the US: Charli became the first British female to hit the top spot since Adele's "Someone Like You" in 2011. Charli's follow-up single "Break The Rules" also ignited airwaves around the world, hitting the Top 10 in USA and Australia, following with sold-out US and UK headline tours.
Charli is main support to Katy Perry on her The Prismatic arena tour in Feb/March and is back in the UK at the end of March for a string of dates, including London's Shepherd's Bush Empire.
