Watch: Bobby Berk Launches Acting Career Post-'Queer Eye'

Bobby Berk, the original interior design maven for "Queer Eye," has left the show – but not the screen; he's headed for a role in a new sitcom that he's also executive producing.

"As reported by Variety, the six-episode series will focus on former MLB pitcher Amar Farooqi, played by co-creator Dana Abraham," Digital Spy detailed.

"His career is brought to an end by an injury, but he finds a second career wind when he is hired to lead a struggling cricket team owned by a steel company. In the process, he also gets the chance to reconnect with his South Asian heritage."

Berk, the writeup noted, "plays Amar's manager Mickey, described as 'struggling but well-connected'."

Berk explained to an ET interviewer that cricket, which is more popular in Britain, is not the same thing as the great American sport of baseball, despite the fact that in both sports "there are bats; there are runs.

"I haven't quit learned as much about cricket yet as I need to," Berk went on to add, before explaining the show's concept and comparing it to "Ted Lasso," the Apple TV+ series starring Jason Sudeikis about an American football coach who takes up a new career coaching the other kind of football – soccer, in England.

Berk called "Strikers" "really cute" and a "sports comedy-esque" entertainment.

"I wanted to get into acting," the reality star went on to say. "I love unscripted [television] – I'm still doing some other unscripted things that are in the works.... but I really wanted to get into acting, and I really want it to be the right role".
