Gay Twitter Roundup: 'Queer' Nude Scenes, 'Traitors' Hunk Dylan Efron, & Commenting 'Raw, Next Question!' on RedNote

Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 6 MIN.

No app is doing it (and by "it" we mean harnessing the power of pop culture events, unhinged debates, and a steady stream of thirsting over people we just learned about) like the queer community on X. But this week, the people of Chinese social media app RedNote, who welcomed millions of Americans migrating from TikTok, came close!

It's been a thrilling week of cultural exchange (the number of RedNote users asking "what does 'Raw, next question!' mean, because the Americans keep saying that under my video" actually needs to be studied) and sharing the humor of the government's insistence that the app is being used for Chinese date collection.

This week: Walmart's logo got a little tighter; we looked back at the greatest TikToks of all time; and we migrated to join the hilarious and horny people of China on their TikTok alternative, RedNote. We cheered for "The Traitors" contestant Bob the Drag Queen and his dragging of Dylan Efron, for whom our affection (and thirst) continues to grow; and we paused to enjoy every detail of Drew Starkey and Daniel Craig's performance in "Queer," another classic from the king of gay yearning and gorgeous, horny cinema, Luca Guadagnino.

The latest horny sensation from Luca Guadagnino, the king of putting queer desire on our screens, has captured our hearts with his adaptation of William S. Burroughs' novella, also titled "Queer." Between the incredibly sexy cast and the iconic, inescapable thrill of gay longing as only Guadagnino can create, we're doing the important work of appreciating this film from every angle. The good, gay people of X have been sharing such jewels as the garters which Daniel Craig himself requested, and gifs of the way his tongue pushes into Drew Starkey's character's cheek.

"Traitors" faves, Dylan Efron & Bob the Drag Queen

We can't stop talking about (and looking at) fan favorite "Traitors" contestant, and total hunk, Dylan Efron. Not only is he hot, and smart, and casual about jokes poking fun at his brother, but he's rolling with the metaphorical punches being thrown his way in the most endearing manner. Changing his Instagram bio to "Miss Guided 💅" after Bob the Drag Queen gagged us all at the round table was just the beginning... Some might even say this is... the Start of Something New.

Say Hello to RedNote

In anticipation of a TikTok ban, millions of Americans moved over to the Chinese social app RedNote. Though only one person asked the important question ("What is the Chinese Grindr?"), the experience almost immediately turned into a really wholesome and creative cultural exchange. Users from both nations turned data collection and spy allegations from the U.S. government into an ongoing joke and video trend; Chinese users helped by explaining etiquette on the app and taught Americans helpful Mandarin phrases, while American users.... commented "Raw, next question" under the posts of hot Chinese men. There's gonna be a period of adjustment, but we're getting there!

We interrupt this round-up for a broadcast of some thirst traps of Brandon Flynn grabbing his bulge as he models for Calvin Klein, shirtless Richard Madden paparazzi pics, and the world-stop moment that was the Loewe x Jonathan Bailey 'Drink Your Milk' tee – the below featuring model Ivan Cidrian.

RIP TikTok, for real this time (maybe)

While we're waiting for the news on whether we will lose access to TikTok, or if this will just be a fun season of overthinking social app regulation, Gay Twitter has made sure to honor the icons and heroes who made the video app as fun as it was. From the very unique voices who sang for us, to the woman who read the absolutely-not-a-kids-book called "Ben's Big Load" to us, and the guy who just got out of jail and confirmed that, yes, he does support the "ligibitikya" community, – and how could we ever forget the most indecisive queen of all time, in the video that asked her to choose the supreme pop girl – it's been a joyous, entertaining ride.

Icon behavior

One thing we're always gonna celebrate is icon behavior, and the effortlessness with which queer people make history. Our impact on pop culture has shaped the world in unique, magical ways. Sometimes it's about acknowledging twerk superstar Kevin's hairography in the video where he's shaking it to an Ellie Goulding remix, and other times it's about bringing awareness to the fact that in the clurb, we're all businessmen being silly just to make our friends laugh. It's always gonna be about celebrating our queer elders (particularly those who uploaded historical artifacts to Youtube), and remembering the memorable and spectacular moments in Miley's iconic career.

We leave you with this incredibly useful tip to get out of any phone call, the greatest admission of guilt which will forevermore be quoted ("I swore to god... and that was a lie because I don't believe in god!" is sublime! Bob the Drag Queen, your impact knows no bounds), and a reminder that "Interview with the Vampire" is the gift that keeps on giving.
