U.S. Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) yelled out, "Happy anniversary to my wife!" as she cast her vote as the House of Representatives holds an election for a new Speaker of the House at the U.S. Capitol on October 25, 2023 in Washington, DC. After a contentious nominating period that has seen four candidates over a three-week period, the House GOP conference selected Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) as their most recent nominee to succeed former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was ousted on October 4 in a move led by a small group of conservative members of his own party. Watch: Rep. Angie Craig Receives Standing Ovation After Mike Johnson Diss

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Angie Craig commemorated her 15th marriage anniversary in the sweetest way.

When it came time for Craig to voice her choice for Speaker of the House, she used her time to vote for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and give her wife Cheryl a shoutout.

As reported by Yahoo Finance, Craig shouted, "Happy wedding anniversary to my wife," before casting her vote for Jeffries.

Of course, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) was been newly installed as the new House speaker, and he has a history of waging culture wars with his anti-LGBTQ policies. But something tells us Craig is not going to let that fly without a fight.

Taking to X, Craig declared her intentions in a tweet: "Mike Johnson spent his legal career fighting against same-sex marriage, adoption and marital benefits. Now he's brought that fight to Congress.

"Proud to vote against him on my 15th anniversary with my wife, Cheryl," she wrote, adding, "@RepMikeJohnson, enjoy it while it lasts - it won't be long."

Proud, indeed. See the moment below.

Johnson's reportedly looked at his tie when Craig made her anniversary announcement, and the room erupted in applause.
