Hate Group Head Links Disney's Gay Character to Kevin Spacey Controversy

Anti-LGBTQ hate group leader Linda Harvey hit a new low this week when she suggested a more appropriate storyline for the gay teenage character on the Disney Channel's "Andi Mack" program, would be if the boy had been molested first.

In an opinion piece published by hate rag World Net Daily on Tuesday, Harvey used recent accusations of teen sexual assault by two time Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey from "Star Trek" star Anthony Rapp as a springboard to slam Disney for its continued move to include diverse characters in their programming.

"Actor Kevin Spacey is now accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy years ago. And he just announced he's 'gay,'" Harvey wrote. "Would this ever be the backstory for a Disney boy character - molestation by a 'gay'-identified adult resulting in same-sex attractions?"

"What if Disney told the truth about the frequent origin of same-sex attractions in youth?" Harvey asked. "A heartbreaking but realistic angle could explore what happens when a boy is molested by an adult male or an older teen boy, and then finds himself with same-sex desires - feelings absent prior to the abuse."

Noting that Disney consulted with LGBTQ rights groups GLAAD, PFLAG and GLSEN regarding the storyline, Harvey decried that the entertainment juggernaut didn't seek input from anti-gay organizations like One Million Moms, the American College of Pediatricians and hate group American Family Association.

In closing, Harvey encouraged her readers to the 12,012 signees of One Million Moms' petition to Disney demanding that they cancel "Andi Mack."

Harvey is the author of the anti-LGBTQ tome "Maybe He's Not Gay."
