FilmOut San Diego announces the dates and locations of the nonprofit organization's upcoming 21st San Diego LGBT Film Festival.

The 2020 festival will present its opening night movie and after-party gala on Thursday night, April 30th, and will screen a wide assortment of feature-length movies and collections of short films from Friday, May 1st through Sunday, May 3rd.

In addition, Festival Director Kaleb Nicola and Program Director Michael McQuiggan are excited to announce that the 2020 festival will play at two venues in the historic, world-famous Balboa Park in San Diego. The opening night film and gala will be held at The San Diego Natural History Museum (The Nat), with the remaining screenings held at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA).

"While we thoroughly enjoyed our tenure at The Observatory North Park for the past several years, both The Nat and MOPA have dedicated spaces for showing films and have state-of-the-art screening equipment that we believe will offer an enhanced cinematic experience for the attendees of the film festival," McQuiggan said.

Additionally, Nicola states that "on opening night, we will host our gala on The Nat's main floor, directly outside the theater, with a scenic rooftop deck option for festival pass ticket purchasers and sponsors. The remaining Friday through Sunday screenings will be just a few steps away at MOPA, which is located near the park's central plaza. We are also thrilled that there is ample free parking and the option for attendees to explore or dine in wonderful Balboa Park in America's Finest City."

Additional festival details, including directions, a complete film listing, prices and how to purchase individual tickets will be made available in March. Festival passes are on sale now at www.filmoutsandiego.com.
