Musician and singer-songwriter Angel Olsen took to Instagram this week to reveal to her 210,000 followers that she is gay.

"My beau, I'm gay," she captioned the post, which includes a number of photos of her partner, her tattoos, and more. Meanwhile, on her Instagram Stories, the singer shared a photo of herself smiling while sitting in the sunlight. She added the text: "I'm gay!!!!!!!"

Variety identifies Olsen's partner as Adele Thibodeaux, a writer who has a credit on HBO's "High Maintenance," noting that the duo have photos of each other reaching back to last December. The outlet also points out a 2019 New York Times profile about Olsen, who released her fifth album "Whole New Mess" last year, that says her fans are very interested in her sexual identity, writing that "a great many" on Twitter "express the hope that Olsen is gay or at least bisexual," based on the interpretation of some of her songs. Though she identified as straight at the time, Olsen told the Times "for now."

Olsen recently announced a box set called "Song of the Lark and Other Far Memories," which will be released on May 7. It contains her 2019 album "All Mirrors," "Whole New Mess" and a new LP called "Far Memories."
